Dana Fares has appeared in over 50 theater, film, and commercial productions.
Whether she’s dramatizing on stage or selling you underwear on TV, Fares exudes a natural versatility. A gifted improviser (Fares trained with the Improv Olympics), she has a special talent for creating authenticity quirky yet always dark, comedy.
Fares’ gritty performance in the feature-length indie teen thriller Tied Up (2007), opened the first doors for her, leading to other projects including the lead role in the A&E Pilot True Tales, directed by Nick Copus (2009). Fares is best known for her portrayal of Heather Newmark in the Rolfe Kanefsky feature-length thriller One in the Gun (2010). Soon after, Fares starred in and produced in the original web series Water signs.
Most recently, Fares received rave reviews for her performance as the sexy and tormented Krista in the critically acclaimed production of Lisa D’Amours’Airline Highway. Fares also performed as Peggy in a three-month run of “Mamaphobia” on the famed Second City Chicago stage.

Writing & Producing
Beyond acting, Fares is the founder of Birdy Fox Films, where she creates and produces original content along with her business partner Katie Ryan. Most recently, they wrote, produced, and starred in the short film Yard Sale.
Soon after that, the duo began developing a ½ hour single-camera dark comedy series, Half-Life.
Within a month of completing the first draft, the pilot quickly gained traction, making it to the final round for consideration of the Sundance Episodic Lab. Recently, Fares’ attended the Nashville Film Festival after being invited to live pitch the concept to an industry panel. This trip placed Half-Life script into the hands of some stellar creative directors at reputable production companies. Birdy Fox Films is currently of pre=production for the pilot, which is set to shoot in June 2019, under the guidance of an Emmy award-winning writer/producer.
Yoga and Wellness Influencer
A true believer in the transformative relationship between mind and body, Dana founded Yoga Before Coffee in 2017, with the goal to spread the benefits of yoga and healthy eating. In one short year, she has garnered over 10K followers who tune in daily for her yoga, wellness, and self-care tips.
A lover of yoga since the young age of 15, Dana’s commitment to the practice earned her the award of “Best Yoga Instructor” by the publication, Chicago Reader in 2014. She incorporates the philosophies of balanced and sustainable living into her everyday life. A lifestyle that has opened up opportunities to work with brands such as Terez, Winc, Lilah B.
